This neoclassic library
was built in 1910. The library’s collection includes: two 15th-century
bibles, New Testaments from the 11th- and 12th-centuries, first edition
Mozart scores, several Carlos Gomes original scores, and books that belonged
to the Empress Teresa Christina.

The convent was completed
in 1780, but some parts date from 1608. This is one of Rio's oldest structures.
Its baroque interior contains priceless and ornate colonial art. The convent
exhibits woodcarvings and a variety of wall paintings. It is a local custom
that single women looking for husbands come to pray here!

This natural park is a city-owned
complex, which features the Jardim Zoológico zoo and the Nacional
